Captions & Credits with Asset and Lightbox2

joshuawiese's picture
I've uploaded Asset and the suite of modules that go with it, trying to get photos to display in a similar way to that of Amnesty.org (http://www.amnesty.org/en/news-and-updates/ne...). The really appealing part about their presentation is how they've managed to get image credits and a description in both the embedded image on the page and in the lightbox that opens when the image is clicked. I'm afraid I'm not as technically savvy as I'd like to be, and can't tell if photo/image captions are being added by another module that's in play; or if adding captions can be done with Asset as long as I configure it properly; or perhaps something else all together. Does anyone know how they did it, or have any advice? Can you point me to any resources where I might learn more? Thanks.

Michael Chik/CivicActions

Hey Joshua! You should contact Michael Chik at Amnesty or Jenn Sramek of CivicActions and ask them how they've configured Asset to work in this way. Ping me on Skype and I'll give you their contact info :) Best, Rob

Lightbox Captions

Thanks Rob. Actually Jordan Lewin at Communicopia kicked me this link. Very helpful. Those guys rock: http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightb...

Lightbox + captions

Hi Joshua, Yes, Lightbox will automatically use the title attribute in the img tag to create the captions. If you want captions on the page itself, under the image, then this should be easily done in the theme layer (I've done this using Imagecache + CCK Imagefield and just override Imagecache's theme function). There also a module called Image Caption that uses JQuery to create captions below the image from the image's title attribute, although I've not used this: http://drupal.org/project/image_caption.
