Hi there,

I just wondered who would be going to Drupalcon 2010 (SF) from the UK? Would be great to meet up if there are any other atendees? Not much mention of it on here so thought I would give it a start....

Looking forward to hearing back!

San Francisco

I'm really looking forward to DrupalCon San Francisco, I've been to all the European ones, but this will be my first North American one.

Planning to go for a week and hang out for a few days beyond the conference and do some sightseeing.

Who else is comming?

Excellent, its should be good!

Nice to see people are going over, its my first bigger introduction to Drupal after working with it for a while. I wonder if many others from the UK are heading over?

Drupal con San Francisco Flights

Has anyone booked any flights to San Francisco yet? Any cheap deals going on the moment. Cheapest I have found so far is £500

Flights

£500 seems about right for direct flights, but I've seen indirect for a little over £400. Price depends on many things ofc, but ive always found Expedia to turn up good deals, esp if also booking accommodation. However, as online agents, they arent able to help much if your travel plans change at all.

You could get better rates per person by sharing accommodation and/or booking two or more seats on flights as part of the same booking.

It's often worth checking flight costs for less busy days of the week if your schedule and accommodation plan allows.

If you fancy the indirect flight option, consider stopping for a night in another city en-route for a great value mini break!

£4-500 seem OK

Virgin flights to SF from London (return) were the lower end of £400 - £500 a few months ago, there were some cheaper indirect flights available too, as low as £380 but it starts to become a very long journey if you're not careful.

Hotels

Anyone booked a hotel yet and are you using the recommended ones on the sf2010.drupal.org site.

Other sources available

Not being an advert for them or anything, but we found cheaper hotels were available through Ibis/Best Western/etc rather than the promoted hotels, which look very nice all the same - but not too budget friendly...

So what is the headcount for DCSF 2010?

How many have we now got for Drupalcon? Good to see there are a few going across... I'll not be the only one with a funny accent and bad teeth!
