Come to our Drupal Presentation Evening - new venue! Our talks this month are: "Using Drupal for high traffic subscription sites" and "Theming with Omega 4", see details below. New members are very welcome - this is a free event.

Using Drupal for High Traffic Subscription Sites - Mike Diplock
Most production sites use page caching for anonymous users to overcome the latency in creating complex pages in Drupal. This talk will investigate the possibilities of extending page caching to authenticated users, and will look at the design and deployment of a music subscription service using D7 where the design goals were to have an average page build time of 10ms. The talk will also cover ways to identify users and personalise pages in the cache without using Drupal directly.

Theming with Omega 4 - Anthony Albertyn
Omega 4 is a Drupal 7 base theme that gives you full control over the templates and grid structure of the theme and it takes advantage of many new tools and best practices, like SASS, Compass, Singularity, Breakpoint and modular CSS. Omega 4 has a steep learning curve, but the journey is well worth it. This talk will be a high level introduction and will give you a good basis to further explore the theme.

For this month, we are been hosted at a venue sponsored by eLife Sciences Publications. Its near Cambridge Train Station so should make it easier for people coming by train.

Best regards
Jeff and Anthony
