Drupal for Intranets

Hi there

I am new here.  I work for a moderately large business who are looking at options for Content Management solutions for their intranet.  Drupal is one of the solutions which has been recommended to us, but most of the information I can find relates to building internet web sites.  I'm particularly interested in how you could restrict visibility of particular information to different categories of users.  Is anyone out there using it for Intranets?

Hi, we are using open atrium at work (a web agency) as a intranet/knowledge share. The great thing about atrium is that you can customise the features per group so each department/discipline gets a system for what they want/need. I would recommend giving it a go to anyone looking at a new intranet system.
