Hello All,

I am a self employed Technical Author working for several companies in different areas, mostly engineering and I am currently looking at some sort of content management system to manage my growing collection of files (pictures, pdf's, Word documents etc.) so that I can find things easier.

I am hosting this on a standalone computer using XAMPP on a localhost basis, but plan to make at least part of the information available to customers later, so will have to find someone to host it for me.

Is Drupal suitable for what I need? and will I have to move all my content on to somebody elses servers or can I just host the remote accessible part?
