Wordpress conversion problems

Hi,

Used to be a Drupal user some time ago - thought it time to give it another go.

I am trying to convert from a wordpress site.  This is proving a very difficult proposition.  Using Drupal 7 - looked at Migrate - just doesnt work.  Tried feeds and csv - doesnt work - usually results in username and email not recognised.

Absolutely stuck.  Surely this should be a relatively simple procedure?

Any direction greatfully appreciated.

Thanks for that Robert.

I now remember why I went to Wordpress.  I have spent two days trying to get Wordpress posts, pages and users into Drupal 6 and Drupal 7.  Both are a nightmare.

I have researched and followed the various methods ( including the above).  They all fail miserably.  I have also tried Feeds with csv files produced from PHPAdmin - these fail also.

Not sure that's its worth the effort - Drupal is a more powerful community development platform, but it is proving to be unrealistically difficult to achieve what should be a simple process.

Pity.

Update

Hi,

Got users in via feeds.

Post and pages still a problem.

I have done the following - imported from a Wordpress xml with wordpress_import.  Looking at the Migrate panel shows all the elements ready to be imported.  Set Migrate to import - it then starts , but always hangs - this time at 83%.

Am I just missing something here?
