About a week ago I released a feedfield CCK module. A few days later David Ayre released feed_node which did almost exactly the same thing - but using the nodeapi rather than CCK.
David and I got to talking and have now released our modules with shared code for managing aggregation, it's not yet an API but it is a start. I really enjoy developing with other people, it just makes the work seem even more useful. David was also not rushing his code like I was, so he made me take a little extra care of my work - good to have someone tell you to pull your socks up now and then.
I then went digging around Mike Carter's feedparser module, and found that he was working on an feed management api at a level below ours. He had an api that let him extend his parser module to handle enclosures and the like. So, with Mike willing to help out from his side, we could have three on the feed api team.
Now my only real question is, "How to best build an API ?"
