Presentation Idea - CSS Frameworks and Drupal

Is this event still a possibility? It's an excellent theme for a meet up!

I could present a bit about using CSS Frameworks in Drupal themes. I've used YUI and Blueprint CSS in projects and also looked at others like 960.gs etc. Recently, I've been using Blueprint CSS as a starting point when creating Drupal themes from Photoshop mockups. It's a quick and robust way of making quality CSS based themes.

Great idea, love to present...

From experience, Drupal sites are only ever as good as the relationship between the designer, developer and client. A designer’s awareness of Drupal’s constraints is key to a successful project.

Topics that may make for suitable presentations:

  • Drupal page structure and default behavior - block regions, content area, forms, alert messages/user feedback, menus etc.
  • Theming Drupal - theme engines, contributed themes and custom theming.
  • Drupal and the design process - IA, Wireframing, Screen Design etc.

Darren’s proposal sounds like a great idea, I’d love to hear about using CSS frameworks with Drupal, especially in comparison to the zen theme.

I'd would also be interesting to hear from Mark Boulton and Leisa Reichelt regarding the drupal.org redesign?

Regarding venues, perhaps the Design Museum or the BFI (who are using Drupal BTW).

Design Museum

Excellent suggestions.

Design Museum or BFI would be great, if not maybe we could use the Rounhouse again.
