Training

Hi I am new to Drupal, so new I don't know where to start. I have been looking for some training in the Bristol area but so far no luck, can only find one organisation that runs courses 'computerminds' but they are not running one at the moment. Any suggestions?? I need to build a site for 'The Speech & Language Therapy Research Unit' at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol and thought Drupal would be a good bet. Current site www.speech-therapy.org.uk I would also like anyone's thought's on a good book to get me started until I can get myself enrolled on a course. Many thanks Julie

Drupal for Beginners - Noble Prog? user group?

I'm in a similar situation, finding very little time to tackle what seems a steep learning curve using just a book or on-line tutorial. I might try a day working at home. All I've found so far for current courses is http://www.nobleprog.co.uk/ but the prices are pretty high (£600 - £862 per delegate). Just found this here on this very web site: www.drupal.org.uk/offered/drupal-training/jul... I've been to a couple of user group presentations, but found they can suddenly become very high-end technical. Perhaps a user group could offer a few starter sessions? David

Book

http://www.usingdrupal.com/ - if "Using Drupal" is what you need help/advice with. Lots of other books have useful stuff on handy modules for when you get into tweaking the site to your needs.

Book

Thanks for the information to you and all others who answered my post. I now have the book you suggested and have found some training in Bristol with http://www.circle-interactive.co.uk/home.

Drupal for Beginners

Maybe you could make it down to one of the regular events in London. It's a good chance to meet other Drupal users, and pick up some tips or get your questions answered. If there's enough interest we should organise a Drupal for Beginners meet-up?

Separate Tracks

Where there's enough space we're trying to organise beginners, intermiadiary and advanced tracks at events.
